I am currently researching the acquisition of Macrocarpa timber planks that I can shape into skateboard art. Once I find a reliable source, I plan to hand-paint these boards and add the photos to my website.
This idea is inspired by a company called Paper-Rain who unfortunately are no longer trading, they were commissioning artists to hand-paint their boards and then they would sell them in NZ and overseas.
I did a couple of paintings for them which sold very quickly at an exhibition. I also purchased several blank boards, which I will paint over the next few weeks and add to my website.
Skateboard art is extremely popular and looks great hanging on the wall as it is both a visually striking art form and something that can work beautifully in a variety of home and business settings.
