Keeping it Fun

Reproduction of The Sea at Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer painting by Vincent van Gogh, created in 1888

I find art all-consuming — whether it’s drawing, painting, or reading about great artists. At the same time, I find it incredibly relaxing. Over the past few weeks, I’ve reminded myself of this as I work on expanding my horizons and developing my own style, adding new pieces to my website soon.

It’s easy to overthink things, and that can quickly take the enjoyment out of creating art. So, moving forward, my plan is simple: just paint and enjoy the freedom of expression without worrying too much about who the artwork is for, or whether anyone will like or appreciate it.

At the end of the day, what really matters is that I love what I’m doing, feel good about the painting, and have fun creating it.

If someone else loves the artwork too, that’s a bonus — after all, art is in the eye of the beholder.
