I am embarking on a journey to see what the best medium for me is to use to paint various paintings, whether it be landscape, still life, abstract and everything in between.
I have been wanting to try oils for some time but have invested heavily in acrylics which I have enjoyed and have kind of mastered them to a point where I feel very comfortable and can achieve the desired out comes I am looking for in each painting … but you don’t know what you don’t know right ! so I am thinking of branching out and trying oils.
Painting with oils seems to be a bit overwhelming choosing the right ones as I don’t want to go hobby grade and then regret not going the full hogg, so I have decided to just dive in and buy a good professional brand and then experiment with various techniques and maybe purchase oils for dummies or such like and see where it takes me. I will let you know how it goes, as I just cannot wait to get started on this journey of discovery.
